Oil based paint dry to the touch in 6 8 hours and ready to recoat in 24 hours. Kitchen cabinet painting typically takes 1 weeks time to dry but can take up to a month or 30 days to completely cure and harden. The more humid a room in other words the more moisture in the air the longer the paint in it takes to dry.

Oil based paint may feel dry two to four hours after it s applied. High humidity equates to longer dry time. For latex drying time is relatively short compared to that of oil based paints. The time it takes for your cabinets to dry and cure can be effected by humidity.

If you re using oil based paint on indoor trim doors and cabinets the recoat time differs from water based paint. Recoat time for oil based paint. Paint drying time is the amount of time it takes for the paint to be dry to the touch after application. Latex paint dry to the touch in about 1 hour and you can safely recoat in 4 hours.
